Pence and Giuliani Refuse to Cooperate with Impeachment
     On Tuesday, Vice President Pence and Rudy Giuliani stated that they would not cooperate with the House impeachment inquiry, joining the Pentagon in stonewalling the primarily Democratic investigation. Adam Schiff condemned this development, saying "The evidence of obstruction of Congress continues to build."  

Bolton Disagreed With Ukraine Affair
     In her testimony at the House impeachment inquiry, Fiona Hill revealed that former national security adviser John Bolton strongly disagreed with the White House's call to Ukraine. Ms. Hill stated that Mr. Bolton thought the call was a "drug deal" and called Rudy Giuliani a "hand grenade who's going to blow everybody up."

Hong Kong Leader Will Not Agree to Any Concessions
     Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam refused to make any concessions to pro-democracy activists in a news conference on Tuesday, saying "For concessions to be made simply because of escalating violence will only make the situation worse. On the other hand, we should consider every means to end the violence." For context, the protestors have demanded the withdrawal of a bill allowing the extradition of critics of the Chinese government, the resignation of Lam, the retraction of the government's label of the protestors as "riots", and independent investigation into the actions of the police, and the release of all jailed protestors.

Texas Woman Slain By Police Officer Was In Possession of a Firearm; Officers Did Not Identify Themselves
     More details in the shooting of the Fort Worth woman have emerged in the arest warrant for the officer who shot her. The warrant states that the victim heard a noise and took her firearm to investigate, at which point the officer shot her through the window. The officers, who were on a welfare check, neither announced their presence nor identified themselves. Further, the second officer on the scene stated that he could not see the firearm when he first saw the victim through the window.
  
Turkish President Refuses To Negotiate With Kurds
     Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan informed President Trump that Turkey is opposed to both a ceasefire and any negotiations with Syrian Kurds. President Erdogan said that Turkey will "never declare a ceasefire... we are not worried about sanctions." Despite this statement, Mike Pence will lead a diplomatic delegation to try to negotiate an end to the conflict within the next 24 hours.
